This graduate seminar on scientific writing includes four components. The first component covers the basics of scientific writing such as its definition and purpose, and the structure and format of scientific papers. The second component examines the organization and writing of select articles from indexed journals that correspond to students’ research interests. The third component discusses writing style and techniques, including tips for enhancing readability and coherence and for writing sentences and paragraphs. The fourth component requires students to practice scientific writing. The seminar uses two writing tools, Grammarly and ChatGPT, for this component.
